Farmingville, NY - On Saturday, July 22, Supervisor Edward P. Romaine attended the AMVETS Post 48 Testimonial Barbeque to honor AMVETS National Commander Harold Chapman. The celebration was held at AMVETS Post 48 in Ronkonkoma.
AMVETS National Commander Chapman celebrated his election as the 73rd National AMVETS Commander and the Organization’s first National Commander from the Town of Brookhaven. Mr. Chapman’s primary concern is the current statistic of 22 Veterans that commit suicide each day throughout the country. The Veterans Administration has a hotline to aid Veterans in need of support and companionship when the need arises by calling 800-273-8255. This hotline is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
