[ARCHIVED] Councilwoman Cartright Honors New Eagle Scout in Setauket

Councilwoman Cartright Honors New Eagle Scout in Setauket

Farmingville, NY - On Sunday, July 16, 2017, Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright joined the scouts of troop 427, friends, family and other community leaders in congratulating Stephen R. Wagner on earning the rank of Eagle Scout. The ceremony was held at St. James Church in Setauket.

To become an Eagle Scout, a boy must first work his way through all preceding ranks while meeting certain requirements: earning merit badges, holding leadership roles and completing a community service project. Stephen built two wood benches for St. James Church in Setauket, where the scout’s prestigious event took place.

“Stephen’s dedication to the church community is admirable,” said the Councilwoman. “The statue of the Madonna is the perfect setting for the handsome benches he built. There, anyone, even those not affiliated with the church, can sit and reflect, and enjoy a moment of solitude. I know my admiration for this project is shared with his lovely family, and I thank him for his efforts.” Councilwoman Cartright concluded.
