Farmingville, NY - On September 30, Supervisor Ed Romaine honored Boy Scout Matvey Morris from Troop 270 during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in Patchogue. Matvey’s Eagle Scout project was planting two rows of shade trees outside the Mount Carmel parish chapel.
“Congratulations to Matvey for completing his project and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout,” said Supervisor Romaine. “Scouts like Matvey are the leaders of tomorrow, and from what I can see of this outstanding young man, I say that we’ll be in good hands.”
Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
