Supervisor Romaine Honors Eagle Scout from Troop 29 in East Moriches

Farmingville, NY - On October 15, Supervisor Ed Romaine honored Boy Scout Armand Lannerd from Troop 29 during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony held at East Moriches Fire Department. Armand’s Eagle Scout project was removing fallen trees, clearing underbrush, power washing and sanding picnic tables at Christ Lutheran Church. He then stained and finished the benches to improve their life-span, repainted the back area of the church, designed and built a fire pit for use in vacation bible school and other events.

“Congratulations to Armand for completing his project and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout,” said Supervisor Romaine. “Scouts like Armand are the leaders of tomorrow, and from what I can see of this outstanding young man, I say that we’ll be in good hands.”

Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
