Councilwoman Bonner, Brookhaven and Hope House Ministries to Co-Sponsor the WAR On Addiction Rally

Farmingville, NY - On April 21, Councilwoman Jane Bonner, the Town of Brookhaven and Hope House Ministries will co-sponsor the “WAR on Addiction Rally” in loving memory of Billy Reitzig of Miller Place. Billy tragically passed away from a first time accidental heroin overdose in April 2016 at 25 years young. The “WAR on Addiction Rally” will be held from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at the Pennysaver Amphitheater located at 1 Ski Run Lane in Farmingville. This year’s rally will include an action packed agenda of passionate speakers, self-help experts, community leaders and local celebrities speaking about their own life experiences. It is designed to generate awareness, educate and raise funds to help with prevention, treatment, recovery and fundraising all while advocating public policy change. All proceeds will benefit Hope House Ministries in Port Jefferson and support the work they do to help fight addiction and assist in the care of those who are trapped by drug and alcohol abuse.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Last year’s event was a tremendous success and I expect our new location to draw a much bigger crowd. No family should have to go through the pain of losing a child to substance abuse or watching them suffer each day. Together, we can help our friends and the families who are in crisis. Community support and generosity for this very worthy cause is sincerely appreciated.”
