Supervisor Romaine and Councilman Foley Inspect Davis Park Marina Repairs

Farmingville, NY - Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilman Neil Foley recently visited Davis Park, Fire Island to inspect repairs made to the Town-owned marina and ferry dock. Although an October 2017 storm caused $3 million in damage to the facility, the marina reopened on time for the Memorial Day weekend. Most of the work was done by Town Parks Department employees over the winter and spring months. Pictured with Supervisor Romaine and Councilman Foley is Kenneth Stein, principal of Davis Park Marina LLC, the company that operates the marina for the Town. The Davis Park marina has 250 boat slips, electric and water hook-ups and bathrooms with showers.

Supervisor Romaine said, “The October storm did more damage than Superstorm Sandy or Hurricane Irene, but we were committed to open up in time for the boating season. Thanks to the efforts of the Parks Department, residents can now enjoy a new and improved marina this summer.”

Councilman Foley said, “When I came over to Davis Park right after the storm, I was shocked by the devastation that was left in its wake. Now it’s re-built to be stronger and better than ever. I am happy to say that the marina is open for business and I welcome all residents to add Davis Park to their summer recreation plans.”
