Farmingville, NY - On June 9, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Valerie Cartright visited the Eastern Long Island Mini Maker Faire held at the Port Jefferson Village Center and Harborfront Park. The event featured innovative robots, kinetic and interactive art, fire sculptures, ocean exploration through virtual reality and many more cutting edge creative experiences through hands-on, minds-on exhibits and performances. Maker Faire originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of Make: magazine. It has since grown into a significant worldwide network of both flagship and independently-produced events. To learn more about Maker Faire, go to the Maker Faire website.
