Farmingville, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Valerie Cartright have announced the completion of two paving projects in Stony Brook and Setauket.
In the first project seven single roads, all off of North Country Road, were resurfaced, including Arlington Court, Ashleigh Drive, Bayles Avenue, Blydenburgh Lane, Mill Pond Road, Princess Gate, and Wellington Drive.
The second project involved the paving of nine roads in a residential neighborhood. Roads paved included Birch Hollow Court, Davis Lane, Equestrian Court, Forsythe Meadow Road, Hawkins Road, Lotowana Lane, Melville Court, Smith Lane, and Whitford Road.
The total cost for both of these projects, which in addition to milling and paving also included the inspection and repair of all drains in the area, as well as the installation of two new drains (one on Smith Lane and the other on Blydenburgh Lane), was $425,000.
“We are continuing to work our way across the Town, neighborhood by neighborhood, one roadway at a time,” Losquadro said. “It is very gratifying to see the progress the Highway Department is making in improving the infrastructure throughout Brookhaven.”
Councilwoman Cartright said, “The repair work completed on these streets addresses quality of life concerns of many residents who drive them every day. I look forward to continuing to work with Superintendent Losquadro and his staff on future paving projects on the roadways in Council District One.”
