[ARCHIVED] Supervisor Romaine Announces First Dress for Success Brookhaven Pop-Up Sale

Farmingville, NY – Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced that Dress for Success Brookhaven is holding its first pop-up sale on Main Street in Patchogue. There will be a special two-hour preview and sale at 46 East Main Street in Patchogue, located between Toast Coffeehouse and the Patchogue-Medford Library, on Wednesday, August 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Media, elected officials and the public are invited to attend the preview to learn more about the Dress for Success Brookhaven Program and shop!

The Dress for Success Brookhaven Pop-Up Sale will take place at the same location during Alive After Five on Thursday, August 2 from 3 pm. to 8 p.m. and also on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to Dress for Success Brookhaven programs.

Supervisor Ed Romaine said, “Dress for Success Brookhaven is an excellent program that supports economic independence for women. I want to thank Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri for his support of this program and Toast Coffeehouse owner Terence Scarlatos for letting Dress for Success Brookhaven use his storefront to operate the preview sale and pop-up sale. I encourage residents to come down to the sale and purchase quality clothing at a discounted price for a great cause.”

About Dress for Success

Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help clients find jobs and remain employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work. Brookhaven was the first affiliate to be established as part of the worldwide non-profit organization. The women we serve come from across Long Island. They are job ready women who have been referred by over 250 local non-profit organizations; including domestic violence agencies, veteran’s organizations, homeless shelters and job training programs.

Our mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools necessary to help women thrive in work and in life. Dress for Success Brookhaven is sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven Department of Housing and Human Services, Division of Women’s Services.

The Dress for Success Boutique is located at Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill in Farmingville. It is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on selected Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All client visits are by appointment only.
