Superintendent Losquadro, Councilwoman Bonner Announce Completion of Rocky Point Paving Project

Paved Road in Rocky Point

Rocky Point, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Jane Bonner have announced the completion of five roads in a residential Rocky Point neighborhood.

Roads resurfaced include Culross Drive, Hallock Lane, Merritts Path, Sams Path and Begonia Road. In preparation for this paving project, Brookhaven Highway crews installed 16 new drainage structures, including eight on Begonia Road, to alleviate flooding issues. The total cost for this project was approximately $400,000.

“In addition to resurfacing roadways, part of the process in completing a paving project involves the inspection, repair or replacement of all drains within the area,” said Losquadro. “This particular project involved a great deal of drainage work, completed more cost-effectively by our crews in-house.”

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Thanks to Superintendent Losquadro and the men and women of the Highway Department, these roads are much safer now that they are repaved and drainage is improved. This is a continuation of an extensive plan to improve the infrastructure throughout the Town of Brookhaven and I will continue to work with the Superintendent to identify roads in need of repaving in my Council District.”
