Farmingville, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Dan Panico have announced the completion of an extensive paving project in Manorville.

During this paving project, Wading River Road was resurfaced from the Brookhaven Town Line to the Long Island Expressway overpass, as were portions of North Street and South Street. The curbline at the intersection was moved back to increase the radius and the roadway was leveled to eliminate the dip that previously existed. In addition, the intersection of Wading River Road and South Street was reconfigured for safety. This project also involved extensive drainage work on Wading River Road to alleviate flooding, as well as the installation of new curbs, sidewalk and ADA-compliant handicap ramps at the intersection of Wading River Road and South Street.

The total cost for this project was approximately $500,000.

“The intersection of Wading River Road and South Street was dangerous and in need of improvement,” said Losquadro. “The work at the intersection, along with the paving of surrounding roadways, has made for a safer, smoother ride for motorists and pedestrians.”

Councilman Panico said, “The stretch of roadwork and associated drainage work came out beautifully at the intersection of Wading River Road and South Street. Anyone who drives that section of roadway on a regular basis would be familiar with the jarring bump in the road and consistent flooding that used to exist.”
