Jane Bonne and Eugenia Zygmunt

Farmingville, NY – On August 11, Councilwoman Jane Bonner joined family and friends of Eugenia “Jean” Zygmunt to celebrate her 100th birthday. The party was held at the Atria South Setauket senior living community. Eugenia is a mother of four children with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is the daughter of immigrant parents who came through Ellis Island from Poland, grew up in NYC and married her husband of 66 years, John Zygmunt in 1940. They moved out to Long Island in the 1950's where Jean worked for many years in the medical field and as a nursing assistant. She has traveled all over Europe. Most of these trips were to Poland to visit family.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “I was so happy to visit Jean on her special day and get a chance to meet her family. She has lived a remarkable life surrounded by so many loving people. They are very fortunate to have her as their family matriarch.”
