Farmingville, NY – On Tuesday, August 28, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilman Daniel were on hand for the grand reopening of Shirly Beach that now boasts a spray pad.
This project was made possible through a $300,000 DASNY grant secured by NYS Senator Tom Croci. The project includes the installation of a spray pad that has five fixtures; new landscaping and sod; installation of a new swing set, pergola and picnic benches; parking lot repaving, and refurbishment of the restroom facilities.
“We are working hard to raise the bar through every facet of local government. Whether it be our parks, demolishing blighted structures, aggressively pursuing illegal and substandard housing. We are raising the bar in the tri-hamlet community and the quality of life for all. This morning we held the grand reopening of our newly renovated Shirley Beach, and the kids and their families love it. In the coming weeks we will totally renovate the restroom building both inside and out to make it look great,” said Councilman Dan Panico.
Joining Councilman Panico at the official reopening and ribbon cutting were Supervisor Romaine, Congressman Lee Zeldin, Suffolk County Clerk Judy Pascale, Pat Boyle – District Director for NYS Senator Tom Croci, Cathy Guarino, Legislative Aide for SC Legislator Rudy Sunderman, and area families and children.
