Supervisor Romaine Honors Eagle Scout from Troop 221 from Manorville

Farmingville, NY –  On September 29, Supervisor Ed Romaine (right) attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony at the Manorville Fire House to honor Tyler Jordan Haug (left) from Troop 221 in Manorville upon attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

Tyler’s Eagle Scout project was designed to benefit Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck for children with disabilities in Center Moriches. Tyler met with the Executive Director of the camp and learned that there was a main walkway that was nearly impossible for people using wheelchairs and walkers to use because of cracks and tree roots. Tyler decided to remove the old walkway and replace it with a new brick walkway. His project required fundraising, removing the existing walkway and creating a new 600 square foot walkway.

Supervisor Romaine said, “Congratulations to Tyler for completing his Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck project and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Stephen is one of our leaders of tomorrow, and from what I can see of this outstanding youngster, I say that we’ll be in good hands.”

Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
