Farmingville, NY – On September 29, Councilwoman Jane Bonner honored Boy Scouts Joseph DiBiasi (left photo) and Michael Muroff (right photo) from Troop 1776 of Mount Sinai for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. For their Eagle Scout projects, Michael made repairs and replacements to doors at the historic William Miller House and Joseph built a stoop and railing at the back of the house. Also pictured at right is Edna Griffen from the Miller Place Historical Society.
Councilwoman Bonner said, “Congratulations to Joseph and Michael for completing their projects and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. These fine young men are the leaders of tomorrow and from what I can see, we’ll be in very good hands."
Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
