[ARCHIVED] Councilwoman Bonner, Youth Bureau and Local Pizzerias Sponsor “Stop Underage Drinking” Initiative

Farmingville, NY –  Recently, Councilwoman Jane Bonner and the Town’s Division of Youth Services launched an initiative to raise awareness about the dangers of underage drinking. The Youth Bureau purchased "Stop Underage Drinking" and "Rethink the drink. It's not hip to take a sip" stickers that were distributed to pizzerias in Council District 2 and throughout the Town. The stickers will be placed on pizza boxes. Councilwoman Bonner introduced the idea and the Youth Bureau designed and printed the stickers. Each Town Council member has participated in the initiative, providing 1000 stickers for pizzerias in their districts.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Underage drinking can lead to other hard drugs, like opioids, that are destroying so many young lives in our community. I thank the Youth Bureau and the participating pizzerias for helping to get the word out. Together, we can make a difference.”
