Farmingville, NY – On November 4, Supervisor Edward P. Romaine (right) honored Boy Scout Jacob Alexander Horoszewski (center) from Troop 221 in Manorville for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. The event was held at the Manorville Fire Department. For his Eagle Scout project, Jacob installed trail markers along more than 5 miles of the Paumanok Path and El’s Trail in Manorville and performed a road and trail clean up. Also pictured is Scoutmaster Ed Champ (left). Supervisor Romaine said, "I commend Jacob for his commitment to scouting and service to the community. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is a great achievement that he should all be very proud of. Scouts are our country’s future leaders and from what I see, we will be in very good hands.”
Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
