Farmingville, NY – The Brookhaven Town Board recently adopted a resolution co-sponsored by Councilman Michael Loguercio and Councilman Kevin LaValle to waive the yearly “Pooch Pass” fees. The Pooch Pass allows residents and their dogs to access to the Town’s two dog parks located in Middle Island and Selden. Although the fees will be waived, a Pooch Pass is still required in order to use the dog parks. “I’m happy that we can now give dog owners a break,” said Councilman Loguercio. “The Town dog parks have grown to be very popular, so we still need the Pooch Pass but by waiving the fees, it will encourage people to comply. It also ensures that the dogs are licensed and up to date with their vaccinations.”
Councilman LaValle said, “Our dog park in Selden is widely used by residents and and their pets. By waiving the fees, we’ve made it accessible for everyone and now, I expect even more people will take advantage of this beautiful Town facility.
Town’s Middle Island Dog Park is located at 1075 Middle Country Road (Route 25), just east of the former K-Mart site and the Selden Dog Park is located on Boyle Road, between Corvair Lane and Carston Street. The Pooch Pass application and Dog Park rules and regulations are available through the Animal Shelter.
