Farmingville, NY – On November 11, Councilwoman Jane Bonner (fifth from left) joined Sound Beach Civic members, residents and veterans at the Sound Beach Civic Association’s (SBCA) Veterans Day Memorial Service held at the Sound Beach Veterans Memorial Park. During the event, the Councilwoman thanked the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces for the sacrifices they have made in the name of freedom. Rocky Point High School Students sang the national anthem, played taps and ended the ceremony with "God Bless America.” Sound Beach Fire Department volunteer and SBCA Vice President, William Pellenz (left) led the pledge of allegiance and the SBCA Board members laid a wreath at the memorial. Also in attendance (left to right) were SBCA president Bea Ruberto; SBCA board member Ann Moran; Superintendent of Highways Dan Losquadro; Legislator Sarah Anker; State Senator Ken LaValle; John Kreutz representing Tax Receiver Lou Marcoccia and St. Louis De Montfort RC Church Deacon, Bob Mullins.
Councilwoman Bonner said, “It’s an honor to recognize the men and women who have sacrificed so much to preserve freedom and liberty around the world. It is important that our veterans know we are grateful for their service, courage and patriotism.”
