THIS PAST MONTH:

During the month of November the Parks & Recreation Department hosted a series of fun and engaging activities for all ages. On November 2nd, The Henrietta Acampora Recreation Center in Blue Point held its 22nd Annual Art Show! Congratulations to all the artists who participated. On November 19th, The Robert E. Reid, Sr. Recreation Center in Shoreham hosted Skoblicki Scientist's "Turkey Trouble" science class. Children ages 3-5 learned all about this feathered animal and created a turkey craft. On November 27th we finished up with the fall session of our Indoor Cornhole League. Congratulations to our 1st place winners, Joel and John! Look for our next session of our Indoor Cornhole League beginning in 2019.  Finally, on November 30th, we rang in the holiday season at our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Holtsville Ecology Site. COMMUNITY SERVICE TEEN CLUB:

The Town of Brookhaven is offering Community Service opportunities to middle school & high school students looking to become active members of their community and fulfill community service hours required by schools and other organizations.  Throughout the year, the Town of Brookhaven has many events where teens can help out and earn hours all while helping others.  To sign up to be contacted for events please call 631-451-6118.  Certificates of completion will be provided.
