A building permit is valid for one year from the date it was issued. A demolition permit is valid for 90 days from the date it was issued.
Upon completion of your final inspection, the Building Division will mail a list of the requirements for a certificate of occupancy. To complete the process, you may be required to get a lead solder test, new survey, and/or an electrical inspection, as well as approvals from various agencies depending on your particular project.
The Building Division is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If the plans examiner approves your plans and all of your building permit paperwork is in order, your building permit may be issued the same day. Please be aware that the process may take all day, so please be prepared.
