The Town of Brookhaven is committed to providing equal access to Town meetings and events for all participants. Interpreter services for limited English proficient and deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals are available, free of charge, upon request. If you require a language translator or an ASL interpreter, please contact us with your request no later than 48 hours prior to the meeting and/or event you wish to participate in.
Children (ages 3-5 years) will learn about the environment, animals and plants through crafts and stories. Minimum of 10 students per class paid in full by April 4 needed for session to take place. Call for availability.
The Planning Board is an independent body comprised of 7 members appointed by the Town Board. The Board’s review powers are conferred, and also limited, by statutory framework of state laws and the Town’s zoning ordinance.

Participants will learn about starting plants through propagation; growing vegetables from seeds; uses for native plants; and spring gardening techniques. Minimum of 10 students per class needed by April 4 for session to take place. Call for availability.

This event encourages children to learn how to safely ride their bikes in a mock-roadway, kid-sized setting. Participants of all ages will be evaluated and given feedback on their bicycle-handling abilities, after proper bicycle safety skills are demonstrated. Participants are required to bring their own helmets and bicycles; both will be inspected for safety.
West Meadow Beach

E-Waste disposal, paper shredding and drug take back event for residents to safely dispose of unused electronic devices, have their old paper documents securely shredded and to safely dispose of old prescription drugs. Call 631-451-8696 for more information.
Documents brought in for shredding will be dumped into a 65-gallon container and then into the shredder, enabling each participant to witness the secure destruction of sensitive papers. Paper can be brought in boxes or bags. Documents can remain stapled together, but paper clips and other metal must be removed along with any other contaminants such as rubber bands.
Brookhaven Highway Department Certified Technicians and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office will be on site to inspect car seats and provide parents with essential information about child passenger safety.
Don't let your insurance discount expire. The Brookhaven Highway Department's Division of Traffic Safety, along with American Safety Inc., will host this class. Please bring cash or two blank checks and arrive 15 minutes prior to class. Call to register; class size is limited.
